密歇根大學為什么調整CS入讀要求（附應對建議）

都說去美國留學的學生，不是學CS就是在學CS的路上，不得不說CS的申請熱度依舊不減啊！近日頂尖的公立大學，密歇根針對23年Fall以及之后的學生調整了CS專業招生政策。這種調整是什么，為什么學校會做出這樣的改變，以及我們要如何應對政策改變呢？

 密歇根大學CS政策調整

由于班級人數限制，2023年秋季或之后被密歇根大學錄取的學生必須先被選為計算機科學（CS）專業，然后才能申報專業。此政策LSA和工院學生均使用，并且僅適用于CS專業，CE，DS等專業不適用。

換句話說：23年Fall想申請CS專業的學生需要在申請時就選擇CS專業，以往通過文理學院進去后轉CS的路幾乎被堵死。

密歇根大學為什么這樣調整

密歇根州 CS 專業課程的入學人數在過去十年中迅速增長，感興趣的學生數量超過了大學的教學能力。因此，為了提供高質量的教育和維護健康的社區，根據選拔政策限制了 CS 專業的招生。換言之，大學收縮CS的招生計劃，以此來提高和保證教學質量。

其實除了官方的解釋外，從政策的改變來看，限制了那些想通過申請文理學院進入密歇根再轉入CS的申請者——每年申請CS專業的人數都眾多。

激烈的競爭也就意味著更高的門檻。限制人數，在亞裔理工男生名校申請不受歡迎的形勢下，想進入Umich CS專業的學生，將會遇到更大的挑戰。對學校而言，招生官在審閱材料時也會更聚焦，這次政策的改變還會帶來更高質量的學生，與高質量的教學形成良性循環。（美國名校確實善于在不同形勢下調整招生策略，確保自己的利益）

如何應對于CS政策改變

23年Fall以及之后想申請CS專業的學生有兩個路徑可以進入該專業：

路徑一：

在網申填寫時，通過“advance selection”申請CS專業并被錄取，入學之后，提前選擇 CS 專業的學生還必須在正式宣布 CS 專業之前滿足其專業申報要求（工程或 LSA）。

路徑二：

入學后轉入，不在申請時選擇第一種途徑的學生，從 2024 年冬季開始，通過“Enrolled discoverers”方式申請。這條路徑主要是給那些進入大學之后，經過探索后發現自己想讀CS的學生。但是“Enrolled discoverer”政策細節要在2023年才會公布。

注意：如果申請時已經預選了CS專業但未被錄取，入學后將沒有機會作為Enrolled discoverers轉入。

根據官方給出的路徑，對于CS感興趣的2027er及之后的申請者來說只有兩條路可走：

①100%明確想申請CS專業的學生：

網申時就選擇CS專業，然后聚焦于提升自身各方面實力，進行CS專業方向的積累，確保在接下來更加激烈的競爭中有機會勝出。

②只是對CS感興趣，并不是100%確定要讀CS：

不建議冒險選擇CS，一是CS專業競爭激烈，相似的申請情況下申請CS，成功機率本身可能就會下降；二是美國大學給了學生自由探索專業的機會，可以好好利用這段時間去追尋自己真正喜歡的專業。

對于那些對計算機相關專業感興趣的學生來說，也不一定就必須要申請CS，因為計算機相關專業有很多，比如，DS，CE，CSE等，這些專業的申請不適用于新的招生政策。

美本還是更側重通識教育，如果真的想在CS就業，通過CE、DS這類方向，把相關的專業課程修夠，打好數學基礎，研究生階段轉碼，是更好走的路。

A limited number of students will be enrolled through an application process currently under development for implementation during the 2023-2024 academic year.
